Lately I've been obsessing over recording Teagan's every funny move. I just can't seem to find the time. It either takes me away from her or away from Brandon. Ah, the irony of trying to be a family historian infringing on time with your family.
I try to squeeze a blog post in while Teagan's napping, but there are so many other things vying for that same block of time that I can't seem to get it all done. Generally speaking, she's content playing on her own, so selfishly I sit at the island on the laptop while she colours next to me. It feels more than a little bit hypocritical.
So lately
I've tried to implement a "Drop everything" policy when it comes to
Teagan wanting me to read her a book or colour with her - I'll never refuse her the opportunity to read or create. And when I say
"everything" it generally consists of writing a blog post, reading a
book or wasting time on Facebook - so it isn't anything important. I don't mean to spoil her, but I want her to know that she's more important than clickety clacking on the computer.
Making a family history AND recording it is a balancing act I've yet to figure out. Wish me luck!
